I Can Only Imagine

I didn't plan to post twice in one day, but I went outside at 2:45 this morning and that changed. I don't know what prompted me to go outside but I am so glad I did. I looked up and suddenly felt like I was on the Truman Show. hahaha. I know that doesn't seem like a good thing but it was in that moment that I realized how much God loves us. Yes, I am 22 and just now coming to that realization but I am so grateful for that moment. (the low clouds were what made it feel dome like by the way)

Anyway, the sky was beautiful and it made me think. God loves us so much that he created this amazing world knowing we would destroy it AND even knowing that he sent his son to die to save us from the horrible death we all deserve so that we didn't have to endure it. John 3:16 says the same thing but it is so much different when you come to that realization on your own. Once I realized that this it made me it that if God made earth so beautiful knowing that we would destroy it no wonder why Heaven is beyond our human understanding. We can comprehend earthly beauty yet we are constantly destroying everything beautiful about it; so we cannot possibly know what Heaven is like. My guess is that if we knew we would find some way to destroy that too. When I told John all this he started singing "I Can Only Imagine" and while I laughed at the time I realized that he was exactly right.

I guess I had to write this at 3:30 in the morning because it all finally makes sense to me. I can be excited about Heaven now. I can endure the miserable trials here on earth because I get it now. (at least as much as my earthly self can understand).

I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk
By your side

I can only imagine
What my eyes will see
When your face
Is before me
I can only imagine

[Chorus:]
Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever
Forever worship You
I can only imagine

[Chorus]

I can only imagine [x2]

I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you

My baby already has a testimony...(Part 1)

I knew as everything was happening that I was supposed to tell this story and tell it often. Everything (as scary as it was in the moment) happened for a reason and it was obvious that it was all being orchestrated by God. It was an emotional 5 days for me, but I am so thankful that I was able to see it for what it was while it was happening.... Carson is baby #3. We didn't plan on having another baby, but in the 2 short weeks since I had him the Lord has made it obvious that His plans are far greater than mine. My pregnancy with Carson was a lot like Toby and Ainsley's, the only problem other than me being completely miserable was my blood pressure. So, just like before I was induced at 38 weeks. Most of my pregnancy John and I debated on where I would deliver. My doctor gave us 3 options. One was where I had been doing all my prenatal care, one was where I had Toby and Ainsley, and the other was a new hospital that we had used before for ER services, but didn't know ANY...

The ache

I would have called my mom today, maybe even twice. I would have said it was to "update" her on everything going on, but let's be real, I would have whined to her. I would have told her that I was overwhelmed with taking care of the kids and trying to homeschool and taking care of John and that I was frustrated and confused that he is in so much pain and the ER said nothing was wrong and his PCM says they have no appointments and that they will call him but they didn't and he can barely walk but they keep saying it is "normal" and my house is a wreck, and my head hurts and I can't seem to pull it together long enough to get ahead because I either get hit with pain and exhaustion from the "Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension" (IIH for short) or a wave of grief...(Yes, I realize that was one big run-on sentence). Mom would have been ready with scripture. She would have asked me what I was taking in (i.e. music, movies, reading) and she woul...

My baby already has a testimony...(Part 2)

I had to get out of there. I could not sit there any more and see my baby like that.  Later that evening the NICU called to get verbal consent to do an "exchange." They put a central line in his belly button, removed some of his blood and then added saline to his blood to try to lower his red blood cell count. A couple hours later the doctor called me and let me know that the procedure went well but they wouldn't know how successful it was until the next morning.  All of that happened in what I promise felt like the longest day of my life. I was still in a lot of pain not only from delivery, but from having my tubes tied a couple hours after I had him. I woke up around 7:30 the next morning and forced myself to put makeup on. I turned on the TV and I remember feeling ok. I thought I was handling everything well. Then I started crying and didn't stop for almost 45 minutes. I have struggled with depression for years, especially postpartum depression, so this situati...
